ARE YOU...? ©

Beloved,

Are you doing what God requires of you to do? If not, are you asking for God’s help so that you can do what he requires of you to do? Are you reading and studying God’s Word so that you know what His revealed will in your life is? If not, have you asked God to help you so that you are able to find out what His revealed will in your life is?

When you pray, are you confident they will be answered because you are petitioning God for things according to His will? Do you “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus?” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).   God already knows the answers to these questions concerning your life and where you are in this season of your life. Do you?

Until we are living in the will of our Father God, we will not be in perfect peace and will not experience the true victory of God in our lives. God’s revealed will for us has already been established in several passages of scriptures in His Word. For example, He lets us know through His Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians, chapter 4, verse 3 through 5 that “…this is the will of God, that you be sanctified [separated and set apart from sin]: that you abstain and back away from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor [being available for God’s purpose and separated from things profane], not [to be used] in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God and are ignorant of His will.” (AMP)

King Solomon let us know that God hates "A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others], a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that creates wicked plans, Feet that run swiftly to evil, A false witness who breathes out lies [even half truths], And one who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers." (Proverbs 6:17-19 AMP))  So clearly when we do these things, we are not operating and living in the will of God.

The good news for those of us who are Believers and  fall short of the glory of God from time to time - not due to willful sin and more so our weaknesses and immaturity -  is the grace and mercy which our Father makes available to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.  We know that Jesus lived according to God's will by enduring the cross despising the shame (Hebrews 12:2),  “So clean house! Make a clean sweep of malice and pretense, envy and hurtful talk. You’ve had a taste of God. Now, like infants at the breast, drink deep of God’s pure kindness. Then you’ll grow up mature and whole in God.” (1 Peter 2:1-3 (MSG)).

Prayer: Merciful God, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins. I am grateful for Your Holy Spirit and repent for taking Your grace for granted. Help me live in Your will so that every area of my life reflects the light of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whose name I pray in. Amen.
