LET MY PEOPLE GO! ©

God did not send Moses back to Egypt to overthrow or change it to conform to His ways. He could have, but He didn’t. He could have wiped Egypt out like He destroyed the earth during Noah’s time and demolished Sodom and Gomorrah during Abraham’s time, so we know He’s able, but He didn’t.  He sent Moses back to Egypt to command Pharoah to let His people go.

The LORD tells His people to “come out from among them”  - the unclean, the unholy. He doesn’t instruct His followers to waste time changing them. They can't!  The LORD tells His people to pray for them, not to align with them. He did not send Jonah to Nineveh to overthrow or take control of it or become like a Ninevite. He sent the prophet to warn the Assyrian Capital community of their impending judgment and to give them an opportunity to repent, which they did.

As Christian believers, we ought to seek God so that we have the power to pray the unsaved and our brothers and sisters living in sin back to God and in alignment with His Word. JESUS did not force people to follow Him; He urged them to come after Him.  "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28-29). We cannot draw people to JESUS with hate; we must do it with love. That’s how God did it. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17)

Perhaps if we spend more time seeking God’s face through prayer, fasting, and reading His Holy Word, we will be conformed into the image of JESUS and empowered to do good works like JESUS, with love, not hate.

"Therefore 'Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.'
(2 Corinthians 6:17)
