Over the past couple of weeks, the devil has attacked me through folks who I consider to be very dear in my life.  Admittedly,  I was not as humble as I should have been during some of those interactions.  I didn't submit to God’s authority by resisting the devil using God's Word.  Had I done so, the exchanges would not have lasted as long as they did since the Bible lets me know in James 4:7 that when we resist the devil, he will flee.  Defending myself believing to be right should not have been so important since "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."  (Galatians 2:20)

As Christians, we must be committed to fighting the good fight of faith against the attacks of Satan by following the game plan Paul laid out for us in Ephesians 6:12-18.  “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh” (2 Corinthians 10:3).

The devil will constantly look for ways to attack us and smear our testimonies.  He attacks us from directions and through people we least expect and most of the attacks are by surprise.  It is his goal to separate Believers from God and cause division among God’s people.

In order for us to have the victory we sing about in church, however, we must submit to God’s authority by drawing near to Him through His Word each and every day.  We must pray without ceasing, and we must continue to look to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).  We must not doubt our Mighty God and believe He will do all that He said He will do for His children.
