Until we are willing to acknowledge the truth for what it is, i.e. “the truth,” we can’t be set free. We must surrender to it and allow God – through the blood of JESUS - to minister to us by helping us deal with those truths even when they are ugly truths about ourselves or about folks who we love. Denying them does not promote our growth as Christians in that we know those truths can be changed by faith in the One God who can do it. Those truths do not have to be our realities. And facts do not have to be our truths.
When we understand that the Bible was written for Believers, we realize that God does not deny the truth about His creation and He gives us biblical principles and guidelines to follow in His Word as a result of those truths. God doesn’t deny the truth about humankind and all of its rebellion against Him and rather helps us understand His character as a result of those truths by revealing His responses to the thoughts and actions of men and women in the Bible. God does not sugar coat the ugly truths nor does He deny the sacred and beautiful ones. As I continue on my Christian journey and surrender to the fact that I have been crucified with Christ, I understand more and more those words spoken by Jesus, our Lord when he said: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32 NKJV)
Peace & Blessings.
